Meadowsweet (Filipendula Ulmaria) is a perennial, herbaceous plant with a robust, thick rhizome. The stem is erect, leafy. The leaves are massive, with stipules and quick petioles, pinnate, inexperienced or grayish-felt in coloration. Flowers are with concave hypanthium, small, white, are collected in very massive numbers in a wide-spreading panicle apical inflorescence. The fruit is multi-root; the nuts are bare, sickle-shaped, and spiral-twisted. Meadowsweet blooms in July-August.
